Businesses and creators from Risaralda participate this weekend in the Expo 100% Colombia fair in Madrid to recover sales and open markets after the earthquake on August 10. The event takes place at the MEEU Business Centre in Chamartín, with free entry.
The fair Expo 100% Colombia – Made in Risaralda is held this Saturday and Sunday, September 19 and 20, at the MEEU Business Centre, in the attic of the Chamartín Station in Madrid. Entry is free, according to the organisers, and the event combines a trade show, cultural activities, and networking spaces, as reported by eje21.com.co.
The Risaralda delegation consists of companies and cultural representatives seeking business contacts and buyers in Spain. In the business area, participants include Mokatan, Rosamía Café, and Tradición y Sexto Café from the coffee sector; Musa, with banana derivatives, and Cacao Dalik, from the cocoa sector.
The cultural programme includes La Falla Destino Fílmico, Fundación Revolucionarte, Guara Arte y Pintura, Gloria Elena Ossa Holguín, Jhonattan Arredondo Grisales, Johana Rodríguez Sánchez, Lina María Benjumea Alzate, Patricia Eugenia Rincón Flórez, Sandra Milena Ramírez, and Jefferson Quiceno Valencia.
The venue will feature 35 stands, of which 24 will be dedicated to licensees of Made in Risaralda. This group will include entrepreneurs backed by the brand, participants who are self-funding their presence, and licensees currently residing in Spain.
Héctor Emiro Díaz Velázquez, executive director of FIDATEC ONG Colombia, an entity related to the management of Made in Risaralda, states that the goal is to generate connections that can turn into business opportunities.

The event comes just over a month after the earthquake on August 10, which caused damage in various areas of Risaralda and altered the economic priorities of the department. In addition to addressing the emergency and recovering housing and infrastructure, there is now a need to maintain production, recover sales, and prevent the earthquake from having a prolonged impact on businesses and ventures.
Among the participants will be Germán Alonso Preciado Suárez, manager of the Cuchilla del San Juan Coffee Growers Association from Belén de Umbría, who will travel with Mokatan to showcase the coffee offerings and seek opportunities to expand the market. Adriana Orozco, representative of Sexto Café from Marsella, a company affected by the earthquake, will also attend, aiming to present a sample of her municipality's business activity to an international audience.
The presence in Spain is seen as a starting point for future commercial relationships, not limited to the two days of the event. The fair opens on Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20 at the MEEU Business Centre, in the attic of the Chamartín Station, with free access for the public.
