The XIX Spanish Tortilla Championship - Tescoma Trophy now has a winner. Chef Celia Clara Correia from La Teulada in Elche (Alicante) triumphed in the final held on Monday, October 5, as reported by valenciabonita.es. The second place went to Alejandro Oliveira from La Falda de Chamberí in Madrid, a restaurant that won the championship in 2025.

The third prize was awarded to Carlos Boado from El Caserío de Tión in Coirós (A Coruña). Correia's victory means that the winning tortilla of the national championship stays this year in the Comunitat Valenciana. The president of the jury, Rafael García Santos, noted that the final was particularly competitive.

The classic Tortilla La Teulada costs 10.70 euros, is prepared on the spot in an 18-centimetre format, and the cooking point can be chosen. The menu indicates that it is made with free-range eggs from Galicia and allows the addition of onion for 0.50 euros.

The restaurant also offers a specific menu of "Yemosas Tortillas", with options like sobrasada and manchego cheese tortilla for 13.60 euros, chistorra tortilla for 13 euros, Carbonara with guanciale and DOP pecorino romano for 14.20 euros, ibérico chorizo Joselito and chives tortilla for 15 euros, and truffled tortilla for 14.20 euros.

There is even a tortilla named Tortilla de Celia, featuring ibérico pancetta Joselito, poached onion, green pepper, and mango, listed on the menu for 14.20 euros, which the restaurant highlights as awarded "Best Tortilla in Spain" in 2024.

The XIX edition of the Spanish Championship brought together 20 finalists from various parts of the country. Among them were representatives from Galicia, the Basque Country, Madrid, Castilla y León, Cantabria, La Rioja, Andalusia, Extremadura, and the Comunitat Valenciana.

Alongside the winner, the finalists included names such as Alberto García Ponte from Mesón O Pote in Betanzos; Carlos Olabuenaga from Tizona (Logroño); Ramón Rodríguez from O Cabo (A Coruña); Zhora Ajada from Sagartoki (Vitoria-Gasteiz); Javier Izquierdo from Mesón El Viso de Gumiel del Mercado (Burgos); and Andoni Ibarguren from Txintxirri (Bilbao).

Other competitors from the province of Alicante included Pedro Juan Sánchez from La Muralla de Isla de Tabarca (winner of the I Traditional Tortilla Championship of the Comunitat Valenciana) and Dana Rotaru from Nou Pinet in Alicante. The results left a tie for fourth place.

La Teulada is located at number 5 on Fray Luis de León street in Elche. The classic tortilla that has just been declared the champion of Spain can be tasted there.
