The singer performs from this Friday at the Iberdrola Music venue in Villaverde over four weekends. The City Council is deploying a plan with free shuttles and metro reinforcement for 57,000 attendees per concert.
Madrid hosts from this Friday September 18 the ‘Shakira European Residency Madrid 2026’ series, which will bring the artist to the Iberdrola Music venue in Villaverde for 12 days spread over four consecutive weekends. The event, as reported by elresurgirdemadrid.com, expects 57,000 people per show, necessitating a special mobility plan in the southern part of the capital.
The confirmed dates are September 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, and 27, and October 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, and 11. The venue occupies a plot bordered by Laguna Dalga street, Real de Pinto avenue, M-45 road, and Rabia path, next to the Villaverde Alto-Casco Histórico neighbourhood.
To manage the arrival and departure of the public, the Madrid City Council has designed a plan that combines public transport, traffic cuts, and restricted parking areas. The main pedestrian entrance, also for people with reduced mobility, will be on Laguna Dalga street, in front of numbers 36-38, at the height of Laguna de Cameros street.
The venue will open at 12:00 hours and the access gates to the pitch and stands will open at 20:00. The concerts will take place between 21:00 and 23:00 hours.
The EMT will provide free shuttles to Atocha for the exit from the venue, operating from 23:00 to 2:00 hours, with a single intermediate stop at Legazpi. The metro stations Villaverde Alto (L3) and Los Espartales (L12) will maintain their usual hours (6:00 to 1:30) and will reinforce service between 00:00 and 1:30.
In Cercanías, the stations Villaverde Alto (C4a, C4b, and C5) and San Cristóbal Industrial (C3) will operate from 5:30 to 23:45. Intercity lines 428, 432, 441, 442, 443, 446, 447, 448, 450, 455, 461, 488, N805, and N807 are also available, along with two bicimad stations on Domingo Párraga street, 38 and Transversal Sexta street.
Taxis will have their waiting area on San Eustaquio street, between San Norberto and Resina, and VTCs with pre-booked service on Valle Tobalina street, at the corner with San Ezequiel.
Traffic cuts will begin at 15:00 hours on each concert day and will remain until the end of the event. There will be permanent cuts on Laguna Dalga street (between Real de Pinto avenue and San Erasmo street) and on Laguna de Cameros street. Gradually, depending on attendance, sections of Laguna Dalga, San Eustaquio, Laguna del Marquesado, Resina, Real de Pinto avenue (between Lozares and M-45), Valle de Tobalina, and La Acebeda may be closed.
The City Council recommends using public transport to avoid congestion in a residential area that will see increased pedestrian and motor pressure over four consecutive weekends.
