The French princess, aunt of Felipe VI, presents a showcase of watercolours featuring an autobiographical work titled "A Life". Among the attendees were Infanta Elena and her children.

According to OK Diario, Ana de Orleans, French princess, widowed duchess of Calabria and aunt of King Felipe VI, has inaugurated the exhibition "Memories, Flowers and Landscapes" in Madrid. The showcase brings together watercolours by the 87-year-old artist, focusing on her personal journey.

Among those present at the inauguration were Infanta Elena, the writer and biographer of Juan Carlos I Laurence Debray, her children Pedro and Cristina de Borbón-Dos Sicilias, Rafael Spottorno, former head of the Royal Household, and journalist María Eugenia Yagüe.

The main work of the exhibition, titled A Life, captures the artist's personal memories. "Each element of that watercolour has a meaning for me," she explained.

Her relationship with painting began in childhood. Her father, Henri de Orleans, Count of Paris, took her to the Prado Museum to see works by Velázquez and Goya, and as a child, she shared painting classes with her seven siblings in Portugal.

Her first exhibition was in 1998, and since then she has presented her work over thirty times. "I am overwhelmed by stage fright, I don’t like to expose myself, I do it for my watercolours," she stated.

Ana de Orleans has lived in Spain since 1965, when she married Carlos de Borbón-Dos Sicilias, who passed away in 2015. Among the places that have most influenced her painting, she cites Castilla-La Mancha and Japan.

Painting live is extraordinary: you see it, you feel it, you live it
