La Once Mil, the only taquería in the world with a Michelin star, will open its first location in Europe on September 22 at Plaza de las Salesas 11 in Madrid, next to restaurant Los 33.

The Mexican taquería La Once Mil, the only one in the world with a Michelin star, will open its first space in Europe on September 22 in Madrid. The venue will be located at Plaza de las Salesas 11, very close to the restaurant Los 33, a local partner and companion of the project, according to infobae.com.

The project originated in Mexico City, and its name refers to the postal code of the neighbourhood where it started. Leading the team are chef César de la Parra, Enrique Glennie, and Jimena Gutiérrez, who began with the idea of making the tacos they themselves wanted to eat and creating a place around them to linger.

In Madrid, it maintains its concept of a contemporary taquería, where the product, technique, and atmosphere redefine the traditional taco format. The menu includes nods to the city, such as the Rubia Gallega taco, alongside proposals that have defined the project in Mexico, now reinterpreted as the Black Angus Trompo, with picaña and hip, or Segovian suckling pig Carnitas.

The beverage selection will feature drinks made with tequila and mezcal. The opening in Madrid marks the taquería's first step in Europe while preserving its original identity.

The venue will open its doors on September 22 at Plaza de las Salesas 11, in the centre of Madrid.
