The Contemporánea Condeduque space premieres Unarmoured, a dance piece by Canadian choreographer Clara Furey, in Madrid on October 28 and 29, exploring the vastness of an inner sea.
The Contemporánea Condeduque space, part of the Culture, Tourism and Sports Area, is premiering Unarmoured, a dance piece by Canadian choreographer Clara Furey. According to madrid-destino.com, the performances will take place on October 28 and 29.
The work brings the idea of an inner sea to the stage. The dancers appear as unsettling sculptures, and the production has a soft-core erotic power. The bodies move to the rhythm of waves of light and sound, with an immersive composition by musician Twin Rising.
Furey, based in Montreal, investigates the relationship between physical movement and water in her creations. She trained as a dancer at the École de danse contemporaine de Montreal and has worked with choreographers such as George Stamos, Damien Jalet, and Benoît Lachambre. In 2025, she received the Prix de la Danse de Montreal in the international dissemination category, awarded by CINARS.

Her previous work, Dog Rising (2021), concluded her exploration of tension and immobility. Her pieces have been featured in festivals such as the Venice Biennale and ImPulsTanz in Vienna, as well as in countries like Spain.
The performance can be seen at the Contemporánea Condeduque space on October 28 and 29.
