The President of the Community of Madrid and the Mayor of the capital attended the bullfight on October 12 at the Las Ventas bullring, hours after the parade and reception for the Day of Hispanicity.
The President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, and the Mayor of the capital, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, attended the traditional bullfight for the National Holiday at the Las Ventas bullring on Monday, October 12. They did so hours after attending the Armed Forces parade and the subsequent reception at the Royal Palace, as reported by Europa Press.
Martínez-Almeida arrived accompanied by his wife, Teresa Urquijo, and praised the parade: "The parade was very good, we had a great time. We must celebrate the National Holiday and what better way to do it than with the King." Regarding Princess Leonor, the mayor added, "We are lucky. The succession is assured."
Minutes later, Ayuso appeared alongside the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo. The regional president, who wore a red vest with golden embroidery inspired by bullfighting, agreed with Almeida: "The Princess, as always, is wonderful, a future queen we have who is spectacular, a delight. Moreover, she has a power among the youth..." And she concluded: "She will be the best."
The bullfight on October 12 at Las Ventas is the central event of the bullfighting day for the Day of Hispanicity in the capital. Institutional and political representatives, including the top officials of the Community and the City Council of Madrid, attend the celebration each year.
