Palletways Iberia has launched new facilities in Alcalá de Henares for its collection and distribution in Madrid. With this change, it frees up around 3,000 square meters in its Central Hub.

Palletways Iberia has launched new logistics facilities in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid), as reported by revistaaral.com. The company is relocating the collection and distribution of goods in Madrid city and its metropolitan area to this space.

Until now, this activity shared operational space with the Central Hub, also located in Alcalá de Henares. With the separation, the company frees up around 3,000 square meters in that centre to accommodate the increased volume across its entire network.

The Madrid operation handles over 800 pallets in collections and nearly 500 in distribution daily. During peak activity periods, collections exceed 1,000 pallets and deliveries reach 600.

Fernando Gil, manager of the Palletways facilities in Madrid, comments on the change:

With these new facilities, we are starting a new phase that allows us to tackle the growth of our activity with greater resources and autonomy.

According to the company, the new space allows for better organisation of goods flows, optimising work processes and responding with more autonomy during peak activity periods. It also facilitates the movement of goods and vehicles.

José Manuel Sánchez, operations director of Palletways Iberia, notes that the project allows for “improving our operational capacity in Madrid” and provides more space in the Central Hub.

The Central Hub is the company’s main operations centre and supports a network of over 70 members in Spain and Portugal.
