BBVA, Huawei, and Telefónica participated in Madrid Talent Hub, an event funded by the Madrid City Council to connect training and employment.
The companies BBVA, Huawei, IBM, Telefónica, Amadeus, and AWS took part in Madrid Talent Hub, an event to connect training with the needs of companies, according to h50.es. The day also brought together the European University, the Nebrija Institute of Vocational Training, and other educational entities.
The event was organized by the University-Business Foundation (FUE) with a grant from the Madrid City Council. It was held at the Lab4Future space and addressed the most in-demand professional profiles, young people's job expectations, and strategies to attract, develop, and retain talent.
Luis Miguel González Durán, Deputy Director General of the Madrid City Council Employment Agency, explained at the opening that the City Council is listening more to companies to understand their real needs and adjust training and job offers accordingly.
What we have done is listen to companies and put them on the same level
For his part, Fernando Martínez Gómez, Executive Vice President of the FUE, argued that talent is developed and must be accompanied by growth opportunities.
Talent is not managed, it is built
The programme was structured around panels discussing the map of university and vocational training talent, the most in-demand profiles in technology, digital finance, health, and logistics, and young people's expectations regarding flexibility and professional development. Representatives from BBVA, Huawei, IBM, Amadeus, Telefónica, and AWS, as well as Celera and the European University, participated, among others.
For those seeking employment in the capital, the event serves as a reference for what profiles Madrid companies are looking for and the pathways through which they can join them, from university education and vocational training.
