The Association of Freight Forwarders of Spain and the AI Cluster of the Community of Madrid sign a framework agreement to bring AI closer to freight companies and develop joint projects.
The Association of Freight Forwarders of Spain (ACE) and the AI Cluster of the Community of Madrid have signed a framework collaboration agreement to promote knowledge and the application of artificial intelligence in freight transport and logistics, according to ace-cargadores.com.
The agreement was signed by Miguel Rego Fernández, president of the AI Cluster of the Community of Madrid, and Nuria Lacaci Vázquez, general secretary of ACE, on a date that both entities place in 2026.
The agreement aims to connect freight companies and transport users with the specialized artificial intelligence ecosystem in the region, so they can identify solutions to improve efficiency, planning, traceability, and automation of logistics processes.
Artificial intelligence offers significant opportunities to anticipate demand, optimize routes and loads, automate processes, and improve decision-making. With this agreement, we want to bring these possibilities closer to freight companies from a practical, realistic, and needs-oriented approach,” says Nuria Lacaci, general secretary of ACE.
The planned lines of action include the organization and dissemination of days and events of common interest, the exchange of information, the promotion of joint projects, and the creation of links with companies, universities, institutions, associations, and other clusters.
Both entities will act as a link between their respective ecosystems to facilitate contact between freight companies and developers, suppliers, and specialists in artificial intelligence. The agreement also contemplates the possibility of formalizing specific projects of innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration between the university and the business sector.
The alliance is part of ACE's commitment to the digitalization and modernization of freight transport, and the work of the AI Cluster of the Community of Madrid to promote the implementation, standardization, and responsible use of these technologies in the business fabric.
