The tournament brought together 26 teams from across the Community of Madrid in Alcobendas, with victories for Valcude A in the benjamín category and Submarinos Canis in the alevín category. The circuit continues in Getafe, Majadahonda and Parla.

The 3x3 minibasket circuit organised by Ahorramas and the Madrid Basketball Federation (FBM) got underway on Saturday 12th September in Alcobendas, featuring 26 teams and nearly a hundred boys and girls. According to the publication fbm.es, the event gathered teams from all over the Community of Madrid, from nearby areas like Valcude, Tres Olivos and Valdebebas to others coming from Móstoles, Rivas and Alcalá de Henares.

The local club Valcude stood out with nine teams, seven alevines and two benjamines. In the benjamín category, Valcude A triumphed in the final against Las Mini Six Seven from Móstoles. In the alevín category, Submarinos Canis, from Uros de Rivas, defeated Treso Grizzlies from Colegio Tres Olivos. The champions received tickets for Movistar Estudiantes in the Primera FEB, and all participants received gifts from Ahorramas.

Jorge Ponce, minibasket coordinator, explained that the format also serves as pre-season preparation:

This initiative is great. It’s a festive and fun day that also helps us prepare because organising friendlies is complicated. We’re having a fantastic morning.

Ponce added that in the 3x3 format, "the kids move around much more, they participate much more," and noted that at first the players "were a bit nervous, but now they are better, having fun and competing more than I thought."

Jesús María Fernández, a parent and delegate for the Las Guerreras team from Valdebebas, appreciated that the tournament allows for working on "fundamentals, one-on-one" and learning things applicable to five-on-five matches. As a suggestion for improvement, he proposed that "in the alevín category, it would be good to separate female and male categories."

The circuit will continue in Getafe on 19th September, in Majadahonda on 25th September, and in Parla on 3rd October. Registration is free and can be formalised until the Wednesday before each tournament.
