CRC Pozuelo Rugby lost 19-31 to Vulcanizados Álvarez El Salvador on Sunday in a match that was even until half-time. The Valladolid team earned four points but missed out on the offensive bonus.

The CRC Pozuelo Rugby could not maintain the pace after the break and fell 19-31 to Vulcanizados Álvarez El Salvador in a match corresponding to the rugby league, according to information published by tribunavalladolid.com.

The match started with a defensive error from the Madrid team that Javier Coronel capitalised on to score the first try after two minutes. Santi Ortega converted, making it 0-7. Pozuelo reacted with their scrum play and, after a yellow card to Rodrigo Pelaz, managed to close the gap with a try from Jorge Elvira in the 31st minute, leaving the score at 5-7 at half-time.

After the break, El Salvador improved in both defence and attack. David Alonso scored a new try converted by Santi Ortega, and the academy player Lucas Álvarez added the third try following a move initiated by Gauthier Minguillón. Pozuelo responded with a try from Pedro Arraiza, but Ethan Fisher scored again a minute later to maintain the distance at 12-26.

A new yellow card, this time to Dani Chico, left El Salvador a man down, and Pozuelo took advantage to close the gap. The home side benefited from a penalty try that set the final score at 19-31. With this result, El Salvador earns four points and confirms their improvement, although they miss out on the extra point for the offensive bonus.

With this defeat, CRC Pozuelo remains at the bottom of the standings. The Madrid team will play their next match away, yet to be confirmed, while El Salvador will compete again at home.
