The Amaya Valdemoro Pavilion in Alcobendas will celebrate the 26th WKA International National Open on Saturday, October 17, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the association's founding in 1976. It will bring together around 600 athletes and 200 coaches from all over Spain.
The Amaya Valdemoro Pavilion, located in the José Caballero Sports Centre in Alcobendas, will host the 26th WKA International National Open on Saturday, October 17, as reported by as.com. This event coincides with the 50th anniversary of the founding of the World Kickboxing & Karate Association (WKA) in 1976.
The competition will kick off at 10:00 AM and will run throughout the day. The programme includes fights in Kickboxing, K-1, Muay Thai, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), and Karate / Kyokushinkai. A total of 30 official belts will be up for grabs, with the participation of around 600 athletes and 200 coaches from across Spain expected.
The institutional support comes from the Alcobendas City Council and the Sports Councillor, Jesús Tortosa. The city was recognised last December in the European Parliament in Brussels as the Best European City of Sport 2025.
The organisation is sponsored by the equipment brand FUJIMAE, a historic sponsor of the WKA, whose representatives, Manel and Maribel Servent, continue to support the amateur categories. The president of WKA Spain, Antonio Ricobaldi, has commented on the collaboration:
For us, it is a privilege to continue working alongside a historic brand like FUJIMAE. Their trajectory, experience, and connection to martial arts contribute to the growth and international prestige of our WKA Opens.
Also collaborating are the promoter Unlimited Global Challengers (UGC), the restaurant La Leña de Cobo (Fuenlabrada), and Aguas do Paraño, which will be distributed for free during the event.
In parallel, WKA Spain has finalised an agreement with the Mad Fight Stadium in San Sebastián de los Reyes, the first venue in Spain designed for martial arts and contact sports events. From now on, all events held there will be accredited by the WKA.
It will be fantastic for contact sports in the Community of Madrid and all of Spain. All events will be broadcast live, with a spectacular format where all fighters can shine.
Entry to the Alcobendas pavilion will grant access to a full day of fights starting at 10:00 AM, with the 30 belts contested across various disciplines.
