The Community of Madrid approves €508,000 for the Nuestra Señora del Rosario day centre in Valdemoro, which maintains 47 public places for dependent seniors throughout 2027.
The Governing Council of the Community of Madrid approved on 12 September 2026 the renewal of the agreement with the Valdemoro City Council to sustain the municipal day centre Nuestra Señora del Rosario, as reported by the Community of Madrid. The agreement guarantees the continuity of the 47 public places for elderly individuals in a situation of dependency.
The regional investment amounts to more than €508,000 and covers the management of the resource from 1 January to 31 December 2027, as stated in the information sent by the regional government.
The centre offers gerontological, rehabilitative, psychological, and social assistance, aiming to maintain the autonomy of users and avoid displacements outside the municipality. The Ministry of Family, Youth and Social Affairs details that the services include daily meals, hairdressing, podiatry, and adapted transport.
The renewal is part of a network of 22 agreements that the Community maintains with municipalities, which total 4,600 public places in day centres. The regional administration provides the funds, and the municipalities are responsible for the infrastructure and operational management.
The regional government is also developing a plan to construct 40 new residences and 40 day centres, with an additional 8,000 places (2,000 for daytime care), an investment exceeding €500 million, and more than 300 homes with support for mild dependency.
The Community has a network of over 63,000 places in social services, of which 36,800 are designated for dependent seniors. The Valdemoro agreement remains in effect throughout 2027.
