Born in Oviedo on September 15, 1972, the queen faces this anniversary with a new development compared to previous years: Princess Leonor now resides in Madrid, as reported by hoyaragon.es.
The heir has completed her military training and has begun her studies in Political Science at Carlos III University of Madrid, allowing her to be with her mother in the capital. In previous campaigns, both daughters were fulfilling their respective obligations outside Spain.
Who will not be present is Infanta Sofía, who this week has started her second university course in Paris, after completing her first in Lisbon.
The queen's agenda resumes the day after her birthday. On Wednesday, she will preside over a day on nursing under the slogan “Caring for the mind is caring for life”, which will take place at a newspaper's headquarters.

On Thursday, Letizia will return to “La Gesta”, the public school in Oviedo where she attended seven years of primary school between 1980 and 1986, to preside over the official opening of the 2026/2027 school year.
The cooperation trip that the queen undertakes each season is still pending. The one for 2026, with Bolivia as the destination, was postponed due to the country's social instability and does not yet have a new date.
