The Councillor for Culture, Tourism and Sport, Mariano de Paco, claims in the Assembly that the central Executive offered the president of Rayo Vallecano some Adif land to build a new stadium and demolish the current one.

The Councillor for Culture, Tourism and Sport of the Community of Madrid, Mariano de Paco Serrano, stated this Thursday in the Assembly of Madrid that the central Government promised the president of Rayo Vallecano, Raúl Martín Presa, some land owned by Adif to build a new stadium and demolish the current Vallecas field.

This statement comes amid the processing of the procedure to extinguish the club's concession for the stadium, as the councillor explained during his appearance. De Paco showed two images that, according to him, correspond to a proposal made by the club itself.

This is the cover of the club's reform proposal, which consists of moving it from where it is to this land

The councillor pointed out that these are “Adif lands” that the “progressive Government promised to Raúl Martín Presa to demolish the Estadio de Vallecas and move it”, referring to PSOE and Más Madrid.

Against a possible relocation outside its current location, De Paco insisted that the regional Government's project involves a complete reform of the Estadio de Vallecas and keeping the team in the neighbourhood. The Community had already defended in September that its objective was to ensure the club's continuity in the venue.

Will it be publicly owned? Yes, I commit. Will Rayo continue playing? Yes, I commit. Will it have sports use? Yes, I commit

The councillor guaranteed that the stadium will continue to be “of Vallecas”. The comprehensive reform includes a new stand at the Teniente Muñoz Díaz end and an increase in capacity to approximately 18,500 spectators. The aim, as he explained, is to have a venue “up to the level” of the team's sporting results, its fans, and the neighbourhood.

The Community had already announced that it intends to carry out this renovation once the administrative situation of the venue is resolved. The regional Executive issued an order in July to extinguish the concession of the Estadio de Vallecas, accompanied by a precautionary suspension after an audit detected deficiencies in safety, health, and maintenance. This suspension was lifted on 14 September, after a second audit corrected the detected deficiencies.

The processing of the concession's extinction is ongoing, and the stadium's renovation is pending the resolution of that administrative situation.
