Más Madrid's executive demands that the candidacy of the Frente Amplio for the capital's constituency be led and composed by party representatives. The new electoral brand still has no candidate and will be presented on 17 October.

The leadership of Más Madrid has conveyed this Monday to its coalition partners that the list of the Frente Amplio for the capital's constituency must be "led and composed" by political and electoral representatives of the formation. This information, reported by Infobae, is part of the negotiations the party is holding with IU, Comuns, and Podemos to finalize the left-wing candidacy ahead of the early elections on 29 November.

The executive's argument is that forces with territorial roots are the only ones capable of building broad spaces of unity and electoral strength in their territories. Therefore, they propose that each formation configure the lists within its sphere of influence and that a "confederal understanding" be reached between communities.

Más Madrid maintains that it is the only force in the space with a 20% of the vote in its territory and the leader of the opposition to the Government of Isabel Díaz Ayuso, thus it should lead the Madrid list. The party has not yet addressed specific names, but among the leaders being mentioned as representatives are the councillor in the Madrid City Council Eduardo Fernández Rubiño, the congresswoman Tesh Sidi, and the spokesperson in the Assembly of Madrid, Emilio Delgado.

This movement clashes with Podemos' proposal, which demands open primaries to choose a candidate as a condition for unity. Since the emergence of Más Madrid, both parties have run separately except in the 2023 elections, when they shared a list in the Sumar candidacy.

The new electoral brand, which already has a name, Frente Amplio, still does not have a designated candidate. Strong candidates for this position include the Minister of Health and leader of Más Madrid, Mónica García, who has made herself available for whatever the parties decide together. Also mentioned are the Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun, the Minister of Social Rights, Pablo Bustinduy, and the former mayor of Barcelona Ada Colau.

The official launch of the coalition is scheduled for 17 October, a day after the legal deadline for registering coalitions with the Electoral Board ahead of 29N.
