San Lorenzo de El Escorial Celebrates National Day with Three Days of Events

San Lorenzo de El Escorial schedules three days of events for National Day: Civil Guard exhibition, zarzuela, concert, and institutional act on October 12.

The municipality will host from October 10 to 12 an exhibition of the Civil Guard, a zarzuela recital, a concert, and the institutional act for the Day of Hispanicity in the Plaza de la Constitución.

San Lorenzo de El Escorial will celebrate National Day with a three-day programme starting on Saturday, October 10, and ending on Monday, October 12. The information, released by the Town Hall, details activities for all audiences, with free entry in most cases.

The first event will be on Saturday, October 10, from 11:00 to 13:00 hours, with a Civil Guard Equipment Exhibition in front of the barracks on calle Monte del Fraile. Residents will be able to see vehicles and equipment from the force up close. On the same day, at 18:30 hours, the Casa de Cultura will host a zarzuela recital by Alma Lírica from the Admanum Cultural Association, with free entry until full capacity is reached.

On Sunday, October 11, at 12:30 hours, the callejón del Repeso will be the stage for the Day of Hispanicity Concert, performed by the Agrupación J. Brillantes. Afterward, a Spanish wine will be served. If it rains, the performance will be moved to the Casa de Cultura.

The programme will conclude on Monday, October 12, with the central events in the Plaza de la Constitución. At 11:00 hours, a Holy Mass will be celebrated, and from 12:00 hours, the institutional act will take place with the raising of the Flag, the force review, and the awarding of decorations.

During the institutional act, the mayor, Carlota López Esteban, and the commander of the 1st Company of San Lorenzo, Vicente Calvo Candela, will speak. There will also be a Tribute to the Fallen and the Guardia Civil Anthem will be played.
