The Madrid municipality of Morata de Tajuña continues its Halloween programming until October 31. The next event is the Night of Witches and Chestnuts on Friday, October 30, with a parade starting from the Plaza Mayor.
According to El Confidencial, Morata de Tajuña is celebrating until October 31 the second edition of "Between Candles and Darkness," a cycle of theatre, mystery, and activities for all audiences. The programming takes place in this municipality in southeast Madrid and combines performances, a literary meeting, and family-oriented proposals.
The most notable event so far was the V Night of Souls, held on October 24 at the hermitage of San Isidro, in the area of El Bosque. It was organised by the Cultural Association Chroma and revived the legend of the Santa Compaña, a procession of wandering souls linked to Galician folklore. According to tradition, its appearance foretells misfortunes and deaths. The performance featured Kassandra, a witch who had to confront the procession.
The cycle began on October 17 with the play "The Witches of Salem" by the Grupo Unicornio Teatro. On the 23rd, there was a literary meeting with the writer Juan Andrés Moya, and on Sunday the 25th, the children's play "Those Crazy Ghosts" was performed at the Casa de Cultura Francisco González.
The next event is the Night of Witches and Chestnuts, organised by AMPA Claudio Vázquez on Friday, October 30 from 5:30 PM. The parade will start from the Plaza Mayor and end at the Blue Court of the sports centre, with a proposal designed for family celebration.
