The budget project of EMT Madrid for 2027 amounts to 937.86 million euros, 39.71 million more than the previous year. The municipal company will also allocate 167.2 million to investments.

The largest investment item in the EMT Madrid budget project for 2027 is the purchase of 65 electric buses, for an amount of 34.3 million euros. The proposal is part of the accounts approved by the Board of Directors of the municipal company this Friday, chaired by Borja Carabante, delegate for Urbanism, Environment and Mobility, as reported by espormadrid.es.

The accounts amount to 937.86 million euros, 39.71 million more than in the previous fiscal year, to which 167.2 million for investments are added. With the new vehicles, the fleet will have nearly 600 zero-emission buses, close to 30% of the total.

The budget also includes strengthening the lines affected by works such as the undergrounding of the A-5 or the construction of the Conde de Casal interchange, with the aim of maintaining service quality for users.

For the La Elipa Operations Centre, designed under criteria of innovation and sustainability, 28.2 million euros will be invested. Another 93.3 million will be allocated to upgrading facilities, including the electrification of operations centres, the installation of pantographs for recharging, and the adaptation of parking lots and mobility hubs.

Finally, in 2027, the comprehensive renovation project of the Madrid Cable Car will enter its final phase, with an investment of 17.8 million euros to complete the modernization works.
