The Semaf union has called for strikes at Renfe on Tuesday, November 10, and Thursday, November 12, with a general strike on the 11th in between. Minimum services have not yet been published.

The Spanish Union of Railway Drivers (Semaf) has announced new strikes at Renfe for Tuesday, November 10, and Thursday, November 12, as reported by moncloa.com. Between these dates, a general strike is scheduled for Wednesday, November 11, meaning the Madrid commuter network could be affected for three consecutive days.

The strikes on Tuesday will be total, while those on Thursday will be partial and spread throughout the day. The minimum services have not yet been published: the Ministry of Transport will set them by time slots, determining how many trains will run at any given time.

The reference day is October 29. According to the notice from Cercanías, service was suspended on the C-1, C-3, and C-4, while the rest of the lines operated with delays. Renfe reported a compliance rate of 26.6%, while Semaf claims the strikes affected more than 80% of the service in Madrid.

The C-3 and C-4 connect the southern metropolitan area, with municipalities such as Getafe, Parla, and Valdemoro. The C-1 serves the northern corridor, where users from Alcobendas and Colmenar Viejo are also among those affected.

As an alternative, residents can use the Metro and intercity buses from the Regional Transport Consortium. The L10 reaches Puerta del Sur in Alcorcón, and the L12 of MetroSur connects Alcorcón, Móstoles, Fuenlabrada, Getafe, and Leganés. The status of the network can be checked on the Renfe website.

The network is state-owned and operated by Renfe, so the regional government can only reinforce intercity buses and coordinate them with the Metro. The resolution of minimum services for November 10 will be known in the days leading up to it, so it is advisable to check the network status the day before.
