The unions have registered the call for a 24-hour general strike on November 11. They demand decent housing and wage increases following the failure of conciliation with the employers.

The organising bodies have registered at the Ministry of Labour the general strike of 24 hours planned for November 11, as reported by Noticias para Municipios. The registration comes after the mandatory conciliation meeting between CCOO and UGT and the employers' associations CEOE and Cepyme ended without agreement.

At the ministry's door were representatives from CCOO, UGT, CGT, CNT, the Union of Actors and Actresses, CO.BAS, Intersindical, and the Confederation of Tenants' Unions. The spokesperson for the Tenants' Union of Madrid, Valeria Racu, stated:

we are capable of stopping everything and changing everything

The call aims to achieve three objectives: to enforce the constitutional right to decent housing, to recover the purchasing power of wages, and to resume negotiations for the Agreement for Employment and Collective Bargaining (AENC). The text states that wages have been “frozen for 25 years in real terms”.

The general secretaries of CCOO, Unai Sordo, and UGT, Pepe Álvarez, are calling for increases of between 4% and 7% in collective agreements and a minimum wage increase of at least 7%.

The Assembly Movement of Health Workers (MATS) has officially announced its support for the strike from the public health sector in Madrid. They are asking all staff of the Madrilenian Health Service (SERMAS), the Madrilenian Agency for Social Care (AMAS), and the contracted and subcontracted companies of health centres to join the strike.

Among their demands are the real revaluation of wages, the end of precariousness, and the immediate implementation of the 35-hour work week for all staff. MATS also links the increase in cases of anxiety, depression, and insomnia treated in emergency and Primary Care with the inability to pay rent.
