The Community of Madrid and the American technology company Cloudflare have signed a three-year collaboration protocol to strengthen the cybersecurity of the regional Administration and Madrid-based companies in the face of advancing artificial intelligence.
The Minister of Digitalisation of the Community of Madrid, Miguel López-Valverde, and the president and founder of Cloudflare, Michelle Zatlyn, signed this Friday in San Francisco (United States) a collaboration protocol that will extend over the next three years. The agreement, as reported by the regional government, aims to enhance the security of public Administration and the business fabric of the region in light of the advancements in artificial intelligence, as noted by Telemadrid.
The signing took place at the offices of the American company in San Francisco, during the minister's institutional visit to the United States. The text includes specific initiatives to modernise the regional Administration, including the application of agent-based artificial intelligence and the automation of processes to expedite 1,400 administrative procedures that the Community of Madrid offers to citizens.
This agreement allows us to provide our entrepreneurs and public services with top-level digital capabilities to turn innovation into new products and opportunities," highlighted López-Valverde.
The minister also pointed out that the regional government wants to be "at the forefront" of the new technology revolution while ensuring the safety and protection of the population.
In addition to the automation of procedures, the protocol includes the launch of Madrid Digital AI Trailblazer, a training programme aimed at senior officials responsible for the digital transformation of public services and local entities. The goal is to provide them with knowledge about how these technologies work and the necessary tools to oversee their adoption and ensure appropriate use.
The agreement signed in San Francisco will be valid for three years and aims to ensure that the incorporation of artificial intelligence into the Madrid Administration is carried out safely and responsibly. The Community of Madrid has not yet specified the timeline for implementing the measures or the budget associated with the protocol.
