The Tres Cantos Sports Gala 2026 awarded eleven prizes at the Adolfo Suárez Cultural Centre. The mayor, Jesús Moreno, announced a planned investment of over 21 million euros to improve sports facilities and infrastructure.
The Adolfo Suárez Cultural Centre Theatre hosted the Tres Cantos Sports Gala 2026, where eleven awards were presented to athletes, clubs, and organisations from the municipality. The event coincided with the city's 35th anniversary and was presided over by the mayor, Jesús Moreno, alongside the Sports Councillor, Eduardo Lorca, as reported by the City Council through elresurgirdemadrid.com.
The absolute awards went to Carmen Avilés Palos, an Olympian for Paris 2024, and Alejandro José Matienzo Rodríguez, World Master M35 champion in the 800 metres. In the Promising category, Ailin Hernández, the M-13 women's foil champion of Spain, and Martín Ayuso, the Spanish champion in men's artistic gymnastics, were recognised.
The career of badminton player Miguel Ángel Gómez, known as Kuty, also received an award for his contribution to the development of this sport in Tres Cantos. In the teams category, the women's award went to the Junior Show Skating of CDE Patinaje Tres Cantos, while the men's recognition was awarded to the Benjamín, Infantil, and Tercera FEB teams of the Basketball Club.
The Sports Entity award went to Walking Football Tres Cantos CDF, and the Circus Association Circo Diverso received recognition for their Support for Sport. Pablo Franco Martín was honoured as Best Coach after winning the Moroccan League with MAS de Fez.
During the gala, a Special Award was posthumously presented to Julián Moreno for his dedication to the Petanque Club. Family and friends collected the award in his memory.
