The activist compares the Spanish situation with that of Austria and Germany and calls for attendance at the assembly at Puerta del Sol, which is entering its third week.

The telecommunications engineer and analyst Liuba el Hadi has published an analysis on social media regarding access to housing in Spain and has called for participation in the camp at Puerta del Sol, which is facing its third week, as reported by elespanol.com.

El Hadi identifies the problem as the lack of public housing: Spain is at the bottom of Europe with a 2%, compared to the 8% European average and 30% in Austria. The activist emphasizes that Austria "is not exactly a left-wing country" and recalls that only Vienna has 400,000 publicly funded homes, with nearly 60% of Viennese residents living in publicly owned or subsidised properties.

Perhaps one should have lived in other countries to realise that what is happening in Spain is not normal

Regarding Germany, El Hadi highlights that 50% of the population lives in rented accommodation: "half of the people own their homes and the other half do not." In that country, only 47.2% of Germans own their homes, compared to an average of around 68% in Europe, a percentage only surpassed downwards by Switzerland.

Half of the Germans are not lazy; they simply have a regulatory framework that allows them to have rented housing without being vulnerable

The activist argues that renting in Spain has become a risky situation: "Today, living in rented accommodation in Spain means being vulnerable, and that is very serious." For this reason, she encourages attendance at the Sol assembly: "I am going to the assembly tomorrow because I have been away all week and have not been able to go, so I will be waiting for you there."

The camp at Puerta del Sol continues this Monday, and the assembly is called for tomorrow at the same location.
