The Health Minister, Fátima Matute, asserts that the payments to Quirón correspond to work actually done and audited. Furthermore, she maintains that the Community does not allocate a single euro to private medicine.

The Health Minister of the Community of Madrid, Fátima Matute, defends that the 7 billion euros paid to Quirón since the regional president took office are for work actually done and audited. She states this in an interview with Servimedia, as reported by clmpress.com.

In the interview, the minister argues that the regional management is efficient and that no service is being privatised. According to her words, the Community puts all its resources at the public service.

Matute adds that public hospitals under direct management receive 90% of the health budget. She also indicates that salaries and high-impact medications need to be paid.

Regarding the cost of treatments, the minister cites two specific examples: a neonatal screening, which detects all treatable diseases, costs three million euros, and a CAR-T therapy costs 300,000 euros.

The Health Minister also responds to the Minister of Health, Mónica García, whom she accuses of having left the Ministry in a worse state than she found it. Matute argues that the left has not presented any improvement project in healthcare and points out that the Community also treats patients from other regions.

We are not only treating the population of the Community of Madrid, but patients from other autonomous communities, many governed by the left, come to receive those treatments

Matute does not specify new measures in the interview, although she states that she will study all management models to provide the best public service.
