The Civil Guard has arrested a 29-year-old woman residing in the Vallecas neighbourhood of Madrid in Cantabria, accused of using stolen bank cards in several locations, including Torrelodones and Alcorcón.
The Civil Guard has arrested a woman of 29 years from Madrid, who is attributed with several crimes for using a bank card stolen in Camargo. The arrested individual was also wanted for similar incidents in Torrelodones, Alcorcón, and Ávila, according to EFE.
The investigation began after a handbag was stolen from inside a vehicle parked in the parking lot of a supermarket in Camargo last January. Inside the handbag was a mobile phone and a bank card.
Hours after the theft, the card was used to make two cash withdrawals and a purchase at an establishment in Santander. The agents determined that the PIN was obtained through the victim's mobile phone and that it was used to carry out the transactions.
The inquiries led to the vehicle in which the suspect was travelling, which had been rented using false documentation. The checks placed her residence in the Madrid neighbourhood of Vallecas.
With this information, agents from the ROCA team of the Civil Guard of Madrid travelled to Cantabria last September to locate her. The arrest occurred when the woman was about to get into a private transport vehicle.
During the arrest, the agents found around 1,500 euros in her handbag. The money was to be handed over to another person, according to the investigation, and the package containing it had notes that could be related to her alleged distribution.
The woman is accused of crimes of theft, fraud, and invasion of privacy.
