EMT Madrid will activate five free bus lines from September 11 to 13 to transport attendees to the Madring circuit, at IFEMA.
The Municipal Transport Company (EMT) of Madrid will launch five special free bus services for the Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix, which will take place from September 11 to 13 at the Madring circuit, near IFEMA. According to carrilbus.com, the initiative aims to facilitate access for fans throughout the weekend.
The shuttles, named MR1, MR2, MR3, MR4, and MR5, will connect various points in the capital with the northern and southern areas of the circuit. EMT will allocate up to 49 buses, with frequencies ranging from four to seven minutes, depending on the line.
The MR1 line will connect the area around the Metropolitano with Valdebebas, stopping at Feria de Madrid with a frequency of five minutes. The MR2 will connect Canillejas and Feria de Madrid without intermediate stops, with a frequency of seven minutes.
The MR3, which will link Feria de Madrid with Valdebebas, will have a frequency of four minutes during peak hours. The MR4 will cover the route between Plaza de Castilla and Valdebebas, while the MR5 will operate only in the direction from Feria de Madrid to Avenida de América, designed to facilitate the departure of spectators at the end of each day.
All services will be operational throughout the three days of the event, with schedules adapted to the access and evacuation needs of the public. The City Council of Madrid aims to reduce traffic congestion around IFEMA and promote the use of public transport with this initiative.
